BS 7671 Amendment 2 Compliance [03-0402]
CertSuite complies fully with BS 7671 Amendment 2
BS 7671:2018, and Amendments 1 and 2
- BS 7671 (the 'IET Wiring Regulations') forms the national standard, to which all new electrical installations and additions, and alterations to existing electrical installations in the UK, are to comply
- BS 7671 is published by the IET and the BSI, which together issue periodic amendments
- On 28 March 2022 the IET and BSI published Amendment 2 (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022)
- Amendment 2 came into effect immediately, but the previous version of the regulations, Amendment 1 (BS 7671:2018+A1:2020), remained current until it was withdrawn on 27 September 2022
CertSuite users get updated software, free of charge, whenever the regulations change, so you are always up to date
- CertSuite supports Amendment 2 (from software version 5.3 onwards)
- Once Amendment 1 was withdrawn, on 27 September 2022, Amendment 2 became the default for all jobs
- CertSuite gives users the choice of which Amendment is used: go to the Job Details page of a job, and then select from the drop-down menu under ‘Compliance to BS Code of Practice’
Amendment 2 introduced (among other things):
- a new requirement for Arc Fault Detection Devices (AFDDs)
- updated requirements for the fire safety design for buildings
- a new chapter on Prosumer’s Low Voltage Electrical Installations (a 'prosumer' is someone who both produces and consumes energy, i.e. by having solar panels, etc.)
- Find out more about Amendment 2 on the IET website
