How To Send Measurements to CertSuite from your MFT-X1 multi-function tester [06-0201]

To send results to CertSuite from your Megger MFT-X1 multi-function tester follow these three steps - and check out the video at the bottom of the page:

Step 1: Turn on the Bluetooth on your MFT-X1 page:

  • On your MFT-X1, turn the left hand wheel to point to the ‘Settings’ cog symbol.
  • Use the right hand wheel to scroll down to ‘Network Connection’ and check that this is set to ‘ON’.
  • The Bluetooth symbol should start flashing at the bottom of the display.
  • Note: you only have to do this once – the MFT-X1 will remember this setting until you change it.

Step 2: Connect your MFT-X1 to CertSuite on your mobile device:

  • Open CertSuite on your mobile device (Apple or Android) and open a job.
  • You will see a red ‘MFT’ button at the top of the screen.
  • Tap this button: after a couple of seconds you will see your MFT-X1 listed.
  • Other MFTs that are within Bluetooth range may be listed too.
  • Click on the ID of your MFT-X1: after a few more seconds CertSuite will connect to your MFT-X1.
  • Note that once you are connected the 'MFT' button will turned green, and the Bluetooth symbol on your MFT-X1 will stop flashing.
  • From now on, provided your MFT-X1 remains switched on and within Bluetooth range, CertSuite will stay connected.
  • If you turn your MFT-X1 off for a short time it will automatically reconnect to CertSuite when you turn it back on.

Step 3: Send a measurement from your MFT-X1 to CertSuite

  • BEFORE you take the measurement make sure that you have CertSuite open on the page where you want the measurement to appear, e.g. the Circuits table, RCD table, Board details page, etc.
  • Once you have captured a measurement on your MFT-X1 the ‘Save’ icon will illuminate on your MFT-X1 display – below the middle hot-key: press this hot-key.
  • Some selection-wheels, or 'tagging' wheels, will then appear on the display: these are controlled by the right hand dial, and the left and right hot-keys.
  • Use the dial/keys to identify exactly where you want the measurement to be stored in CertSuite: for example, if you are on the Circuit table in CertSuite, on the MFT-X1 you can select the circuit, phase and column (e.g. Live-PE) where you want the measurement saved.
  • When you have the selection-wheels set appropriately, press the middle hot-key again to send the measurement to CertSuite.
  • CertSuite will give a single beep to indicate that the measurement has been received: and you will be able to see the measurement added to the relevant page.

Note: if you try to send a measurement to the wrong page in CertSuite – for example, if you try to send a test measurement when you have the Jobs List open – CertSuite will not know where to store the measurement, and will beep three times to indicate that there is a problem.
