Getting started: a quick and easy EICR [03-0409]
CertSuite produces great looking certificates and reports, which can be completed quickly, and emailed straight to your client. The Electrical Installation Condition Report is one of the most popular.
Start by logging in: type “CertSuite login” in any browser.
- Enter your Username and Password.
- You come straight to the Jobs List, which will be empty if you are a first time user.
- Don't worry - it will quickly fill with jobs - and there are pop-ups to guide you!
To create a new Job, you always click the blue ‘+’ button.
- The ‘New Job’ menu appears.
- For an ‘EICR’ click ‘UK Electrical Certification’
- And then ‘EICR’ (Electrical Installation Condition Report)
- ‘New Jobs’ are given default names, but these can easily be changed to something more memorable.
- All Jobs open at the ‘Job Details’ page.
- Click any ‘In-Job Menu’ button to move to that page.
Most sections of an EICR can be completed quickly, and CertSuite has lots of time-saving features:
- The ‘Client Details’ can be copied directly from the ‘Installation’.
- Not every box has to be filled in: ‘Contract Reference’ can be skipped.
- Some boxes should be filled in: you must enter an ‘Inspector Name’ (this can be yourself) for a signature to appear on the report.
- And the same is true for the ‘Authoriser’.
To create a new board, go to ‘Boards and Circuits’ …,
- Click the blue ‘+’ button.
- Enter the type of board, its name, and the number of phases
- Then choose how to add circuits.
Time saving features:
- 'Circuit Templates' help you complete your most commonly-used circuits really quickly.
- Some test results must be entered individually, but others can be filled using the ‘Fill blank values’ check box: for example, all ‘Test Button’ values can be set to ‘Pass’ in one go.
- On the Inspection Schedule page, the ‘Fill All’ button will set any blank outcomes to ‘Pass’.
To enter Observations:
- To enter an Observation just change the ‘Outcome’ of the relevant item in the Inspection Schedule.
- You can include photographs here.
- Similar details can also be added on the ‘Observations’ page.
Finalizing and sending the report - with signatures, logos, etc.:
- To send the completed report to the client click ‘Preview Report’ in the In-Job menu.
- Choose whether to 'Add signatures', and then click the blue ‘Preview Report’ button.
- A wizard guides you through adding your signature to the report, if this is the first time you have done this.
- Signatures can be added using a touch screen, or by uploading an image file.
- The wizard also helps with your Accreditation Body Logo, which you can upload as a JPG or PNG image file.
- And it helps with your Company Logo too, which can also be uploaded as an image file.
- You can also set your Company colour, to appear in your reports (it helps if you know the RGB values of the colour: there are lots of free online tools for finding out what this is).
- Finally, the wizard lets you check all of these details: signature, accreditation and company logos, and company colour.
- CertSuite then creates a PDF from your EICR.
- You can print the PDF, or download it to your device, ready to email to your client.
