How to print PAT labels from the Brother P-touch CUBE [08-0402]

The Brother P-touch CUBE is a compact portable Bluetooth label printer that produces durable laminated self-adhesive labels. It pairs easily with CertSuite PAT.

Note that your printer must first be paired with your Android or iOS device: you cannot print from a laptop browser, using Windows etc.

To pair CertSuite with the P-touch CUBE:

  • Start by pressing the power button on the printer
  • Use your device’s Bluetooth feature to pair with the printer
  • Select your printer from the list of available printers – the ID will start ‘PT- P710BT’
  • You can find your CUBE printer ID on the base of the printer
  • Once you have tapped the printer ID, your device starts pairing with the printer
  • Tap 'Pair' when the 'Bluetooth pairing request' modal appears: this completes the pairing set up.

Preparing to print labels:

  • First tap the black ‘Enable Print’ button in CertSuite
  • The ‘Print Label’ modal appears, with a list of compatible printers: select your printer from the list
  • When CertSuite is ready to print, the blue ‘print label’ button appears. It remains visible when you open different assets in the same job, so there is no need to reconnect!

Connecting to a different printer:

  • Note that tapping ‘Disable Print’ disconnects the printer –  the blue ‘print label’ button disappears
  • When you next tap ‘Enable Print’, CertSuite will try to reconnect to the last printer that was used
  • To select a different printer, tap the blue account button (top right of the screen) to open the main menu, and then tap ‘Print Settings’
  • To remove the last-connected printer (1) tap ‘Clear’ when the ‘Label Printing’ modal appears, and  then (2) tap ‘Enable Print’, to select a new printer from (3) the list of paired printers

Printing labels:

  • Once the blue ‘print label’ button appears in CertSuite, the asset that is open can be printed
  • Tap the ‘print label’ button and the CUBE will produce a durable laminated self-adhesive label, for any PAT or Asset job.
  • The labels have a QR code: scan the code and CertSuite will either open the relevant asset in the job that you have open, or add the asset to a new job (with the same client)
  • Brother P-Touch printers produce durable laminated self-adhesive labels for both Asset and PAT jobs

Note also that the process for printing CertSuite PAT and Asset labels using the Brother CUBE printer is exactly the same.
