Open Different Job Offline [06-0104]

Open a different job offline in the App

Working offline in the App is easier than in a Browser:

  • Any job that you have opened on your mobile device, when you are online, can be re-opened when you are offline: the jobs that are available to you offline are flagged 'Offline' (in blue) in your Jobs list.
  • If you have made changes to any jobs while you are offline, you must open those jobs again when you are back online: it is only then that your changes will be synced up to the CertSuite Cloud.
  • You can always create new jobs while you are offline, but you must open them again when you are back online, so that they sync.
Open a different job offline in a Browser

If you have a job already open in CertSuite, working offline is straightforward: you just carry on as before. But if you want to close that job and open another one you need to remember this:

  • When you close the job that you are currently working on you will be asked if you want to save your latest changes as a text file on your device (i.e. a file ending '.txt', e.g. 'myfilename.txt')
  • Save your changes: it is up to you where you save the file, but it is best to make the file name and the location obvious and easy to remember
  • You can only open a different job offline if you have previously saved that job, as a text file, on the device that you are using: to open the job search for the text file that you last saved when you worked on the job offline
Whether in the App or in a Browser it is very important to remember:
  • You must open a job again when you are back online, to save any changes you made offline
  • It really makes things easier if you give memorable names and locations to the jobs you save offline!
